Hear what our customers have to say about us

Absolutely brilliant service, my son broke down in Wallingford , Mark came out on a Sunday within a couple of hours to collect it, he then helped us source a second hand part as my son didn’t want to have a huge bill as going to university, we had to wait days for the part to get delivered to Mark but the day it was Mark turned it around and fixed on the day. I would highly recommend Bulldog Motors, 5 star service and such a good price too. I will be using Mark at Bulldog Motors for all our family vehicles.

Amanda Spiers

Damian Fibuch

John Weber

Collected my vehicle from my house and returned it with an MOT and a service. Mark even washed it for me!! Will be returning for sure!

FAQ's

Are there different Air Conditioning Gasses ?

Yes there are - vehicles manufactured before 2017 use the original gas R134a whilst vehicles manufactured from 2017 onwards require a different gas R1234yf as it is more environmentally friendly although the modern gas is more expensive hence the difference in cost of re gassing older v newer vehicles.

Exhaust systems are manufactured in several sections so dependent upon the damage or what the fault is can be possible to repair or replace just a section of an exhaust, our trained technicians will guide you through the best course of action upon inspection.

Modern vehicles rely heavily on electronic systems, putting significant strain on the battery. From sat navs and entertainment systems to stop-start technology and advanced safety features, your battery powers it all. That’s why it’s crucial to fit a battery with the correct type and rating as specified by your vehicle manufacturer.

Installing the wrong battery can lead to performance issues, system malfunctions, and even long-term damage. We source high-quality batteries for all makes and models, ensuring your vehicle runs smoothly and efficiently.

Yes absolutely, we can compete, we are supplied by both the manufacturers and also the UK's largest group of independent tyre wholesalers who have enormous purchasing power and access to hundreds of different brands. The other reason why supporting independent garages is important is that we are part of the community, we supply our neighbours & the local community and our business means everything to us. Providing great srevice & value is key to our survival we are not just employees wotking for a large business we have skin in the game.

In short the answer to this is yes, tyres that have a puncture can be repaired depending upon where the puncture has occurred in the tyre. Punctures near the tyres shoulder and in the side wall are not able to be repaired safely but punctured in the middle of the tyre can (providing the puncture is not too large) be repaired safely.

It ir a really important part of keeping you & passengers safe as it removes dangerous & toxic gasses from the engine, converts them into harmless water vapour which it releases into the air.

A vehicle diagnostic scan uses advanced technology to check your car’s key systems for faults or potential issues. Modern vehicles are equipped with numerous onboard computers and modules that continuously monitor performance, emissions, and various components. When an issue arises, these modules store error codes, which a diagnostic scan retrieves. These codes are then compiled into a detailed report, helping us to understand any necessary repairs that need to be carried out.

What checks are included in an MOT test?

The test takes about an hour and it checks:

  • Axles, wheels, tyres and suspension
  • Body, structure and attachments (including exhaust system, seats and doors)
  • Steering
  • Brakes
  • Brake fluid contamination
  • Brake pads warning light
  • Fuel system
  • Exhaust emissions
  • Diesel particulate filter (DPF) for tampering
  • Fluid leaks other than coolant and Adblue
  • Lights, battery and electrical wiring
  • Daytime running lights
  • Reversing lights
  • Horn
  • Number plates
  • Seatbelts
  • Speedometer
  • Visibility (wipers, windscreen, mirrors)

The engine, clutch and gearbox are not tested. The full details of the MOT test are on GOV.UK.

Info from the AA website.

The legal limit is set at 1.6mm across the width of the tyre. It should be understood that as tyre tread reduces so does the grip and at the same time the braking distances increase. Manufacturers often reccomend considering changing tyres once the tread reaches about 3mm. We will happily check your tyres and advise on the best course of action.

We offer a comprehensive range of vehicle servicing from a 52 point vehicle health check through to a full service. Check out the servicing page to learn more

An MOT and a service are both essential for keeping your vehicle in top condition, but they serve different purposes. An MOT is a legal requirement for vehicles over three years old in the UK, ensuring they meet road safety and emissions standards. It includes checks on the brakes, suspension, lights, indicators, tyres, wheels, exhaust, emissions, seatbelts, and other critical safety features. If your vehicle fails the MOT, necessary repairs must be carried out before it can legally be driven.

A service, on the other hand, is a routine maintenance check that keeps your vehicle running efficiently and helps prevent future breakdowns. It involves changing the oil and oil filter, assessing the engine's health, and replacing filters or spark plugs if required. A full service provides a more detailed inspection, highlighting any minor defects before they develop into major issues, allowing you to address them at a convenient time. While an MOT ensures your car is safe and roadworthy, a service helps maintain its performance and reliability, making both equally important for the long-term health of your vehicle.

If you place your order before 11:45 AM (Monday to Friday), we can usually fit your tyres the same afternoon. Orders placed after 11:45 AM will be scheduled for fitting on the next working day. Alternatively, you can select a date that’s most convenient for you. We receive multiple deliveries per day and will contact you as soon as your tyres have arrived.

The DVSA regulations requires all vehicles over three years of age to have an annual MOT Test certificate issues by an authorised MOT Test Centre.
