We strongly believe engines should have an oil change at least every 10,000 miles (this can be extended to 15,000 if you mainly travel on motorways) regardless of manufacturer recommendations. In recent years, we’ve seen an increase in engine failures and believe extended service intervals play a big part in that. An oil change costs much less than a replacement engine!

Please note:
- For Standard and Major Services, we’ll need your vehicle for at least half a day.
- If you're booking a Service with an MOT, we’ll need the car for a full day.
- If your car has locking wheel nuts, please leave the key on the passenger seat – we’d rather not go digging through your glovebox etc to find it!
Our Service Approach To keep your vehicle in top condition, we recommend the following service cycle: Standard Service → Basic Service → Major Service → Basic Service → Repeat
If it’s your first time visiting us, we suggest starting with a Standard Service. This gives us the chance to carry out a comprehensive inspection of your vehicle, checking all key components and systems. Once the inspection is complete, we’ll provide an honest, straightforward overview of your car’s condition. If any issues are found, we’ll clearly explain what needs to be repaired soon to stay safe and roadworthy and what can be monitored or left until later.
There’s no pressure – just clear, practical advice so you can plan ahead and avoid unexpected bills.

Basic Service - £129.99
An basic service is the bare minimum your vehicle needs to keep the engine running smoothly. We also recommend this for high mileage customers as an interim service.
This service includes:
- Replace engine oil
- Replace oil filter
- Inspect brake discs/pads (wheels on)
- Visually inspect tyres
- Check & adjust tyre pressures
- Visually inspect shock absorbers
- Visually inspect coil springs
- Visually inspect all gators and boots
- Check coolant level
- Check brake fluid level
This service usually takes 60 minutes to complete
Standard Service - £249.99
A Standard Service keeps your vehicle running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. We recommend this service if it’s your first visit to Bulldog Motors, as it includes a comprehensive inspection of your vehicle, along with a detailed report and any recommended repairs (if required).
This service includes:
- Replace engine oil
- Replace oil filter
- Replace air filter
- Replace pollen filter
- Check engine for leaks
- Check condition of aux belt
- Inspect cooling system for damage & leaks
- Check AC system is functioning correctly (if applicable)
- Check wheel bearings for play/noise
- Inspect tyres for damage, prepare tread depth report
- Inspect brake discs/pads/hoses and caliper operation (wheels off)
- Measure the brake discs & pads
- Inspect suspension components
- Inspect steering boots & gators Steering assembly: check for damage, leaks and play
- Check antifreeze protection level
- Check brake fluid boiling point
- Check condition & operation of all exterior & interior lights
- Check all seat belt condition & operation
- Check the windscreen wipers and washing system
- Top up all fluids (if required)
- Perform full diagnostic scan with email report
This service usually takes 2 hours to complete
Major Service
- No AC - £309.99
- With AC (old gas)- £349.99
- With AC (new gas) - £392.50
A Major Service should be carried out every 2–3 years to keep your vehicle running safely and efficiently. At Bulldog Motors, we go the extra mile - as far as we’re aware, we’re the only garage to include a full brake fluid flush as part of our Major Service.
You’ll also save up to 20% on an air conditioning service when it’s added at the same time, compared to booking it separately.
Every Major Service includes a comprehensive inspection and full report, with any recommended repairs clearly explained.
This service includes everything covered in a standard service, plus:
- Replace fuel filter
- Change brake fluid
- Perform full AC service (25% off the usual cost)
- Check spark plug condition (replacement at extra cost)
- Check headlight alignment & adjust if required
This service usually takes 3 hours to complete
Please Note: To keep our prices competitive our services include OEM quality engine oil and parts as standard. However, if your vehicle requires specialist components, for example, specialist oils or a high cost fuel filter there may be an additional charge.
We will always inform you in advance and seek your approval before fitting any parts that incur extra costs.
